Facilities In Brief

MAIN SERVICES BLOCK

Following a very generous donation from the PACCAR Foundation Europe another, anonymous, donor offered to fund a major refurbishment of our Main Services Block which contains toilets, washing and shower facilities also a laundry.

We have completely stripped the building internally and re-fitted it with separate facilities for boys, men, ladies and girls with a new laundry room.

LAUNDRY

A commercial washing machine and tumble dryer are available for use. The laundry is open 24 hours at nominal charges.

PROVIDORE

There is a well-stocked providore selling souvenirs and sweets. There are also available from the freezer sausages, beef burgers, and vegetables, Other frozen food items may be ordered in advance. There is a Budgens in Chalfont St Peter village just a short walk away and a Tesco’s in Amersham 5 miles distant. The Providore is open daily from 9am till 5pm.

VENDING MACHINES

These are situated next to the Providore and include a soft drinks machine, chocolate machine and a hot drinks machine and are available 24 hours a day.

GAS

Calor gas is no longer available from the Providore, but is available from 06.00hrs to 20.00hrs from Quickstop 30, Rickmansworth Lane SL9 0JR Chalfont St. Peter, 01494 873837

MULTIFAITH AREA

There is an interdenominational area on site where Scouts Own may be held. Groups are welcome to use the area for their own services.

FIRST AID

All groups should have on their site a comprehensive first aid kit to deal with their own minor injuries. Should an ambulance need to be called where possible this should be done from the office. The office must be notified immediately of any major injuries. WE NO LONGER HAVE A DEDICATED FIRST AID ROOM

Wi-Fi FACILITY

There is a free Wi-Fi facility for those who feel that they can't survive without the internet or e-mail.this can be found in or around the flag circle.

TEA/COFFEE AREA

During the summer months we open the flag circle as a tea/coffee bar for people to enjoy a relaxing drink and slice of cake. The providore sells tea and coffee throughout the year.

UNIFORM

We would ask all members of Uniformed organisations to arrive and leave site in uniform.

CAR PARK

All vehicles must be parked in the car park. For reasons of safety we ask you not to proceed in vehicles beyond the car park without first reporting to the office. All vehicles are parked at the owners risk and Paccar Scout Camp accept no liabilty for any damages caused.

Trailers and heavy equipment can be transported by site vehicle to woodland sites

TROLLEYS

Hand trolleys are available for transporting equipment to and from sites. These can be found adjacent to the main toilet block oposite the Flag circle. We ask that once you have set up your camp you return them so other may use them.

PITS

Due to the nature of the soil on site we ask you not to dig pits of any description.

WATER

Standpipes are available at various points both on fields and in the woods.

FIRES

Please light fires only on concrete firebases provided or purpose built altar fires Altar fires can be loaned free of charge.

FIREWOOD

Wood is available in the woodland area from wood stacks or by collecting fallen wood. Pallet wood is no longer available. WE DO NOT HAVE A WOODPILE OUR FORESTRY CREW CHOP FALLEN TREES WHERE THEY FULL AND IT IS SCATTERED AROUND OUR WOODLANDS.

There is a large camp fire circle, but its use may be restricted in times when official site camp fires are taking place, it is located in the middle of woodlands.

DOGS

Sorry no pets are allowed on site, other than the Campsites three dogs Mungo, Luna and Lucy which you are more than welcome to come and meet in the Providore or Flag Circle on fine days.

SPECIAL NEEDS/ DISABLED

A dedicated toilet and shower facility for those with special needs is available. The code for the door is available from reception on arrival.

CARAVANS

Caravans are permitted on both fields and some woodland sites. Electricity is available in some areas.

SITE SECURITY

To ensure as best we can that all adults on site are bona fide everyone over the age of 18 (or that looks over the age of 18) may be stopped and asked for information as to which group they are with. We ask everyone to cooperate. We also have CCTV cameras located throughout the campsite that are monitored.
