MORE INFORMATION ON FUNDRAISING
Chalfont Heights
Scout Camp is to be renamed the PACCAR Scout Camp following a donation of £500,000
by The PACCAR Foundation. This means
that the future of the Camp is secure and can be enjoyed by future generations
of young people.
Chad Lake, County
Commissioner of Greater London Middlesex West said “Our heartfelt thanks go to
PACCAR for this very generous donation which not only secures the future of
this valuable site but also allows us to progress with our plans to
significantly improve the site facilities and adventure areas. We are also grateful to all the people in
Buckinghamshire who have been taking such an interest in the site and
supporting our campaign to secure the future “.
Mark Pigott, PACCAR Chairman
and Chief Executive shared, “PACCAR has had a long term association with
Scouting in the United States
and we are pleased to extend the hand of friendship to Scouting in the UK –
where Scouting has its roots. It is particularly exciting to make this donation
in the year in which Scouting is celebrating its centenary.”
Stuart Heys,
Managing Director of Leyland Trucks and General Manager of the PACCAR
Foundation (UK) said “This is an excellent facility that is already enjoyed by
scouts and young people across the UK and beyond. We welcome the opportunity for Scout
groups and young people’s organisations to enjoy these outstanding facilities”
