Fred Webb Trophy
October 22nd to 24th 2010
This event is being organised by the crews and management of Paccar Scout Camp, and will consist of teams of 3 competing in a competition which will involve the following areas
Area 1:
Camping Skills
Pitch and strike your tent.
Light a fire and cook at least one meal using an open fire.
Set up a suitable stove, and prepare a meal using a stove.
Demonstrate personal hygiene.
Keep your belongings organised and tidy within your accommodation.
Maintain a tidy and orderly site.
Area 2:
Team building
As a team take part in a wide game.
As a team take part in a campfire.
As a team build a useful camp gadget.
As a whole camp build a simple pioneering project.
Area 3:
Service Element
With others, successfully complete a two hour activity or project on the camp site.
Area 4:
First Aid Element:
Understand the initial actions to take in the event of an accident.
Understand the importance of getting adult help and when to call the emergency services.
Know how to treat minor cuts, burns and scalds, stings and insect bites.
Successful completion of this event will entitle the participants to their Outdoor challenge Scout badge.
Points will be awarded for each activity over the weekend;
The team with the highest score at the end will win the Fred Webb Trophy.
Cost of entry per team £45.00 (£15.00 per head)
Any adult leader may attend this event, and assist the service crews running bases.
All teams and leaders must cater for themselves.
